Weekend Manager

Weekend Manager maintains the operation of the House from 4:30 p.m. Friday until 4:00/4:30 p.m. (or after transition with Evening Manager) Sunday.  Weekend Manager also may cover other periods of time when available and mutually agreeable between Weekend Manager and House Manager and/or Executive Director.  Weekend Manager is flexible in all aspects of daily living, realizing that managing the House requires working in a community atmosphere.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain safe environment for the families.  Provide coverage of the premises and provide assistance during emergencies.  Follow lock-up procedures and emergency procedures.
  • Check-in families.  Orient new and repeat families on the rules and policies of the house — enforcing these rules and policies on a daily basis.
  • Maintain contact with families on a daily basis through personal contact, telephone or written message.
  • Supervise volunteers and volunteer activities to ensure a pleasing atmosphere for families.
  • Assist other staff members with coordination of special activities and events held at the House on weekend of duty.  (May include giving group tours on weekend of duty.)
  • Answer office phone.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facility on weekend of duty. (chores are done by families, volunteers and staff members — including weekend manager)
  • Work cooperatively with board, other staff, volunteers and outside personnel regarding any matter which may arise.
  • Check-out families.  Follow check-out cleaning procedures and retrieve RMH property (key, linens, or other property loaned.)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Weekend Manager must be able to climb stairs.
  • Weekend Manager must be able to kneel to bathtub level or possess alternative skill in order to clean a bathtub/shower.

 

WORK HOURS

On Premises:

  • Friday 4:30 p.m. to Sunday 4:00/4:30 p.m.

In Office / Around House:

  • Friday 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00/4:30 p.m.

Weekend Manager will be responsible for 1st and 3rd weekends of each month OR 2nd and 4th weekends of each month.  Ronald McDonald House determines the first weekend of the month based upon the first Saturday of a month.

PERSONAL GUESTS

Weekend Manager should not have personal guest(s) for extended periods of time until after the office closes each night.  At no time should Weekend Manager be solely responsible for minor child(ren.)  Overnight guest(s) is prohibited, unless permission is granted by House Manager, Executive Director and/or Board President.

 

WAGE

The Weekend Manager position will earn an hourly wage (8 hours of sleep time each night are not compensable.)
