Offering support to the whole family when a child is seriously ill.
As our cornerstone program, Ronald McDonald House serves as a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children who travel to Jackson for specialized medical care. It is a home where families can reside in a caring and comfortable environment; share their fears and concerns; receive the support of others who are in similar circumstances; and gain strength during the most difficult time in their lives.

Each family has a private bedroom for the duration of their stay.

Each of our rooms also offers a full private bathroom.

On most days, a prepared warm meal is available for our guests.

Our Home offers a private laundry area for your use anytime.

We always have staff on-site to help with whatever needs your family may have.
The medical community is recognizing the importance of family-centered care for pediatric patients. This has resulted in an understanding of the vital role of Ronald McDonald House. A research study published in 2013 in Families, Systems and Health, a journal of the American Psychological Association, finds that families who stayed together at a Ronald McDonald House for even a portion of their child’s hospital stay believed their ability to stay nearby helped their child recover and spend less time in the hospital.
Mississippi’s Ronald McDonald House gives families the opportunity to focus their energy and their resources on providing love and support to their sick children. And, as families share their experience with others in Ronald McDonald House, they provide a caring support system.
Parents don’t know when their children will need medical help. But they should know they can always access the care they need. And with your help, we can support them all throughout their journey.
